Music, drinks and free admission every first Thursday of the month

The doors of the Kunsthaus stay open longer on the first Thursday of every month for the Panorama event series. From 6 pm, the foyer of the institution becomes a stage for a changing music programme conceived by Nguyen Phuong-Dan. This time’s guests: the duo blowjobs are realjobs. Juli Zimmer and Sayizan Stange operate somewhere between performance art and utter mayhem. Equipped with a guitar, an MS-20 synthesizer, and an electronic drum machine, they tackle topics ranging from dogs, ostriches and stolen bodies to burying one’s head in the sand— as well as plastic spoons in popsicles and the question of where life is actually heading. Expect punk-inspired noise, No Wave, and synth-punk. Before and after the concert, DJ Schmalz will spin tracks from her equally energetic repertoire.

Entry to the current exhibition is free throughout the evening, cold drinks are available at the bar. At 6 pm, Jaana Heine will give a public guided tour offering insights into the themes of Yalda Afsah's filmic works.

Thanks to the Panorama format established in 2024, the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg is has developed into an open space for people to come together. The programme emphasises the role of the Kunsthaus as a spatial and discursive hub within the city and at the same time ties in with the early years of the institution, which was founded in 1962 on the initiative of regional artists. In the original building of the Kunsthaus, which was once located at Ferdinandstor, the in-house restaurant Panorama with a view of the Inner Alster Lake offered a place for visitors to rest and socialize. The title Panorama not only refers to the spatial aspect, but also to the width of the visual and auditory field of perception as well as to a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives.
