Whisper Down the Lane

With her installation Kemenate Klosterthor, Kastania Waldmüller presents what appears to be a relic of domestic comfort. The conceptual reference point is the home, with the stove as the centre. The fireplace room staged in the foyer of the Kunsthaus, however, serves neither as a place to keep warm or to cook, nor does it offer a private retreat. Instead, the arrangement explores questions of memory, permanence, transformation and illusion. The work is part of the Whisper Down the Lane series, an exhibition format in which the artists themselves choose the next participant.

The opening will be accompanied by a DJ set from Hye-Eun Kim, taking place as part of the Panorama XXVII event.
