Traces of Care showcases the artistic works of eight pupils from the Ida Ehre School in Hamburg. These were created as part of an international project in collaboration with pupils from the Escola Artística António Arroio in Lisbon.

The project focused an encounter with the living and working conditions of a beach towel seller from Senegal living in Lisbon. Taking his story as their starting point, the pupils explored questions of migration, work and social participation. Through drawings, discussions and collaborative artistic processes, they developed their own perspectives on the social and economic conditions that shape his everyday life in Lisbon.

The results of this process will be displayed in the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg and will invite visitors to reflect on the potential of artistic dialogue and collaborative creation. The exhibition evening will be hosted by Prof. Dr. Andrea Sabisch (Art Education, University of Hamburg) and Nina Rippel (Chair of BDK Hamburg, filmmaker, art and film educator and education policy activist). Through dialogue with the pupils and visitors, they will provide impetus for an open discussion.
