When is the Kunsthaus Hamburg open?

Our opening hours:

Tuesday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
First Thursday of the month: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
We are closed on Mondays.

How much does it cost to enter?

Adults pay 6 euros.
Groups of 10 or more pay 2 euros per person.

The Kunsthaus Hamburg is part of the Kunstmeile Hamburg.
The Kunstmeile ticket gives you one visit to these six places:

  • Deichtorhallen Hamburg
  • Kunstverein in Hamburg
  • Kunsthaus Hamburg
  • Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg

There are 2 types of Kunstmeile tickets:

  • The 3-day ticket costs 35 euros.
    The 12-month ticket costs 42 euros.

The following groups pay less for the Kunstmeile ticket:

  • Students
  • Apprentices up to 27 years old
  • People with severe disabilities
  • Unemployed people
  • People receiving social benefits

For these groups:

  • The 3-day ticket costs 25 euros.
  • The 12-month ticket costs 27 euros.

When is entry free?

Entry is free for everyone on the first Thursday of the month from 6:00 PM onwards.
Entry is also free during special events.

  • Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK)
  • Professional Association of Hamburg Tour Guides
  • German Association of Art Educators (BDK)
  • German Association for Art History (e.V.)
  • GEDOK
  • ICOM (International Council of Museums)
  • International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art
  • Press members with a press pass
  • Staff at all art institutions in Hamburg
  • Assistants accompanying people with disabilities
  • Children and young people under 18
  • School students
  • Refugees
  • People with an Engagement Card

Are there guided tours?

We offer public guided tours regularly.
Everyone can join.
Public tours are free.
You can find the next tour dates here.

We also offer private guided tours.
Private guided tours are available in German or English.
Private guided tours cost money.

A private guided tour lasts 1 hour and costs 60 euros.
A 1.5-hour tour costs 90 euros.
Public art schools pay 50 euros for a private guided tour.

Important: Every person needs a ticket to enter.

Groups pay 2 euros per person.
