You are invited to see two exhibitions that have been conceived in cooperation about nordic colonialism and Sámi art in Hamburg today - at MARKK and Kunsthaus Hamburg! Since June 3, the exhibition SPEAKING BACK has been running at Kunsthaus Hamburg, and on September 7, the exhibition The Land Has a Mind to Speak. Sámi Horizons opens its doors at MARKK. Within the context of this cooperation, several events will take place on 10 September:
12 Uhr: Talk with the curators Hannimari Jokinen and Katja Schroeder (Kunsthaus Hamburg), in german
13 Uhr: Guided tour for kids and teens through the exhibition The Land Has a Mind to Speak. Sámi Horizons (MARKK), in german
14 Uhr: Talk with Gabriel Schimmeroth and the curator Anna-Sophie Laug (MARKK), in german
15 Uhr: Panel discussion with Hannimari Jokinen, Anna-Sophie Laug, Per Asle Sara and Katja Schroeder in the Zwischenraum / A Space Between on topics of both exhibitions: Nordic colonialism, racism, "Human zoos", Sámi empowerment, contemporary Sámi positions and traditional duodji / handicraft (MARKK), in english, host: Gabriel Schimmeroth
