We are thrilled to invite you to a special film screening of «The New Jerusalem» on the 13th of April. Directed by Kyiv-based filmmakers Roman Himey and Yarema Malashchuk, the film represents a creative gaze into the classic genre of a road movie. The documentary takes the viewers on a journey with thousands of Ukrainian Christian pilgrims to the Zarvanytsia, a sacred place, which is a monastery in the eponymous small village in the western part of Ukraine. It is a beautiful and thought-provoking film that provides insight into Ukrainian culture, religion, and history. Malashchuk and Khimey made their debut with «The New Jerusalem» in 2020 at the Docudays UA festival. The film received a Special Jury Mention at the Kharkiv MeetDocs IFF. Besides, the artistic duo received the Grand Prix of the MUHi 2019 (Young Ukrainian Artists) award. They were awarded the Main Prize of the PinchukArtPrize 2020 for their video installation "Live Broadcast" and the Second Special Prize of the PinchukArtPrize 2018.
