With his virtuosic and aesthetically intense choreographies rooted in hip hop culture, Saïdo Lehlouh from Collective FAIR-E is paving the way for the future of contemporary dance. At the invitation of the Art Mile Hamburg, the French artist is curating an all-day course of performances in all six Kunstmeile institutions. Based on the idea of the collective as the core of an aesthetic engagement characterized by the relationship between the individual and the community, he invites different artists and choreographers he works with for several years, to present works to the theme CORE. Lehlouh thus weaves a choreographic thread among the six houses, opening up new possibilities for encounters through dialogue with other aesthetic forms. The live programme spans an entire day all over Hamburg’s Art Mile and ends with a large-scale choreography with over 100 performers at the town hall square. It provides insight into a diverse European scene that generates new, often genre-breaking impulses for contemporary dance. Many of the invited artists will also perform as dancers in Saïdo Lehlouh’s significant stage work TÉMOIN, which will be presented at Kampnagel on the days leading up to the Art Mile parcours.

At Kunsthaus Hamburg, Nabil Taghouti aka Nabiki will perform at 2 and 4 pm. As B-boy, Nabiki has danced in France, all over Europe and the US and seeks to constantly expand the movement material in breakdancing or b-boying in his practice. He is part of the group Bad Trip Crew, co-founded by Saïdo Lehlouh, and a long-time collaborator of the French choreographer. As part of the performance program CORE curated by Lehlouh, the dancer will present a choreographic essay in the exhibition Dance Dance, Revolution at the Kunsthaus Hamburg. The performance reveals Nabiki’s research process on the further development of a rebellious dance form and shows the movement practice of a brilliant dancer who strives to make his style accessible to a wide audience.
