Long Night of Museums 2024

Long Night of Museums 2024
Saturday, 27 April 2024, 6 pm – 1 am

Special programme for the exhibitions Jakob Spengemann, Akinori Tao – While We’re Gone and Sam Vernon – Alter-Reservoir

Motto: On the Move

Against the backdrop to the upcoming move of the Kunsthaus, both exhibitions address different aspects of relocation: insecurities, labour, the transience of venues or the limited space for art and culture in Hamburg and beyond. In their exhibition While We’re Gone, the two Hamburg artists Jakob Spengemann and Akinori Tao draw attention to the peripheries of the space, to its flaws and shortcomings. They orchestrate the exhibition space itself as a “work in progress”. With her large installations, Sam Vernon creates dynamic visual worlds. Her newly created large-format wall collage combines autobiographical experiences with historical material such as exhibition posters, artist portfolios, objects and documents from the Kunsthaus archive.

In addition to several short guided tours, a collage workshop and a DJ act will take place at the Kunsthaus. The bar will be open all evening.
