Artist talk: Formafantasma

Formafantasma is a research-based design studio investigating the ecological, historical, political and social forces shaping the discipline of design today. In a conversation with the director of the Museum for Applied Arts in Hamburg, they talk about the exhibition at the Kunsthaus Hamburg and relate it to their distinctive approach to design issues.

Since founding their design studio in 2009, Italians Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin have championed the need for value – laden advocacy merged with holistic design thinking. From September 2020 Trimarchi and Farresin have overseen the GEO–Design department at Design Academy in Eindhoven.
