Music, drinks and free admission every first Thursday of the month

The doors of the Kunsthaus stay open longer on the first Thursday of every month for the Panorama event series. From 6 pm to 10 pm, the foyer of the institution becomes a stage for a changing music programme conceived by Nguyen Phuong-Dan. On 6 February, the Hamburg duo Gebrochene Beine, consisting of Eric Falconnier (Queller Trio, Schluss) and Sebastian Stein (kari solid, Dumm Dumm Duo), will play one of their improv concerts. The performance will be accompanied by a DJ set by avavava, behind which is Ava König, who is part of the Motto group and Hallo Radio alongside her artistic practice.

As part of the event, the next presentation of Whisper Down the Lane will take place. Being the fourth artist in the exhibition series, Pia Pospischil will present her video installation Supervision No. 5, which was specially produced for the project. She was invited by her predecessor Altay Tuz.

Thanks to the formats established since 2024, the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg is increasingly developing into an open space for people to come together. The programme emphasises the role of the Kunsthaus as a spatial and discursive hub within the city and at the same time ties in with the early years of the institution, which was founded in 1962 on the initiative of regional artists. In the original building of the Kunsthaus, which was once located at Ferdinandstor, the in-house restaurant Panorama with a view of the Inner Alster Lake offered a place for visitors to rest and socialize. The title Panorama not only refers to the spatial aspect, but also to the width of the visual and auditory field of perception as well as to a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives.
