As part of the exhibition Over Land and Sea , the Kunsthaus Hamburg invites visitors to alternative harbour tours organized by the Hafengruppe Hamburg. On three Thursdays a month, the group offers thematically changing boat trips that take a critical look at Europe’s third-largest harbour.
Hafenrundfahrt „Von Schatzkisten und Pfeffersäcken” – Der Hamburger Hafen im ungleichen Welthandel takes a look behind the scenes of global trade on May 22. The tour focuses on the origin of various products, such as coffee, cocoa and bananas, as well as armaments, highlighting the unequal trade dynamics between the global north and south.
Visitors to the Kunsthaus can take part in a round trip at a reduced price with their exhibition ticket. Conversely, participants on a harbour tour receive reduced admission of €4 to the exhibition with their ticket.
