During the walk on the grounds of the Hamburg observatory, artist-mycologist Ben Nurgenç and astrophysicist Pranjal Trivedi engage in a dialogue about shared ways of thinking and approaches in their respective disciplines. What intersections do art and science have? What is observation, what is interpretation? What role do intuition and imagination play in astrophysics and to what extent does art require data and facts?

Both interlocutors deal with phenomena that elude direct perception: Pranjal Trivedi researches dark matter; in order to prove the invisible in the universe, he works with formulas, models, numbers. His research is conceptual and often abstract. Ben Nurgenç scientifically and artistically investigates the ecology of fungi. He asks how these non-human creatures, which remain hidden for most of the year, can act as protagonists in art.

In a place where people have been looking at the sky for over a hundred years, the two will talk about the relationship between humans and the cosmos. In dialogue with each other and with the participants, they ask how we relate to worlds that are inaccessible to us. During the walk, a joint reflection develops – about time, dimensions and cognition.
