Lila-Zoé Krauß (*1994 Alice Springs) is a multimedia artist, performer and musician, also known as L Twills. In her work, she questions constructions of normativity in capitalist societies and their effects on mental and physical health. Following the principle of deconstruction, the artist interweaves the biographical with research on physical memory, class, antiracism, gender, and neuroscience. Stories emerge that foster identity processes based on imaginative power, solidarity, and mutability.

For her first solo show, Lila-Zoé Krauß transforms [After her Destruction], a multimedia science fiction music and opera project, into a spatial concept tailored for Kunsthaus’ exhibition hall. Ten expansively installed video-chapters trace Girl’s journey through her own mind. Amid highly artificial aesthetics and avant-garde expressive music, a spectacle of mutants emerges in which normality equals absurdity and mutation becomes imagination. In her search for love and freedom, Girl learns that no one possesses beauty and that people fear change; she discovers the fleeting nature of time and a dancing Superego. Through the manifold characters Girl encounters, she eventually succeeds to emancipate herself from external attributions.
