Music, drinks and free admission every first Thursday of the month

The doors of the Kunsthaus stay open longer on the first Thursday of every month for the Panorama event series. From 6 pm, the foyer of the institution becomes a stage for a changing music programme conceived by Nguyen Phuong-Dan. In February, Korean-born, German-raised musician jino.O will be performing, whose work combines experimental textures with guitar-based songwriting. As part of the Hamburg scene, he moves between noise, ambient and intimate, melody-driven songs. jino.O’s debut EP too fool for school (2024) reflects his ongoing search for new ways to combine sound design and songwriting. The concert will be accompanied by a set by Shenzhen-based music enthusiast, collector and DJ Junbo Huang.

The event will also feature the opening of the next presentation in the exhibition series Whisper Down the Lane, where Carolina Lehan will be showing a new work.

Thanks to the formats established since 2024, the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg is increasingly developing into an open space for people to come together. The programme emphasises the role of the Kunsthaus as a spatial and discursive hub within the city and at the same time ties in with the early years of the institution, which was founded in 1962 on the initiative of regional artists. In the original building of the Kunsthaus, which was once located at Ferdinandstor, the in-house restaurant Panorama with a view of the Inner Alster Lake offered a place for visitors to rest and socialize. The title Panorama not only refers to the spatial aspect, but also to the width of the visual and auditory field of perception as well as to a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives.
