As one of around 40 exhibition venues in Hamburg, the Kunsthaus Hamburg is inviting you to visit exhibitions in the city free of charge on Reformation Day. At the Kunsthaus, visitors can experience Nicholas Odhiambo Mboya’s exhibition Utopia – Dystopia<\/a><\/em>. In his multimedia works, he addresses socio-political realities in his home country of Kenya alongside experiences of the African diaspora in Germany. In his first institutional solo exhibition, the Hamburg-based artist reflects on the field of tension between idealized notions of belonging and actual experiences of exclusion.<\/p>\n

Visitors are welcome to get creative themselves at a workshop station in the foyer from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Accompanying the exhibition, the workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore their own identity and attributions as reflected in administrative procedures. They translate their personal experiences into collages and self-portraits. Inspired by Nicholas Mboya’s paintings and drawings, they cut, glue and paint.<\/p>\n

The Kunsthaus bar is open to serve visitors cool drinks and coffee before or after the visit.<\/p>\n
