From 6 pm to 10 pm, the foyer of the institution becomes a stage for a changing music programme conceived by Nguyen Phuong-Dan. This time, the musician Jakob Sinn will be our guest with his project NNIS, which focuses on his main instrument, the drums. By playing them in an unconventional way, he elicits a broad spectrum of overtones and timbres from them. The drums are transformed from a purely percussive instrument into a source of harmonious sounds. The evening will be complemented by a multifarious DJ set by Junus, whose meticulous music selection can be listened to on Hallo Radio or at BEEK, but also at diverse festivals such as this year’s Papiripar. The exhibition Between Stars and Signals will be open throughout the evening.

Thanks to the formats established since 2024, the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg is increasingly developing into an open space for people to come together. The programme emphasises the role of the Kunsthaus as a spatial and discursive hub within the city and at the same time ties in with the early years of the institution, which was founded in 1962 on the initiative of regional artists. In the original building of the Kunsthaus, which was once located at Ferdinandstor, the in-house restaurant Panorama with a view of the Inner Alster Lake offered a place for visitors to rest and socialize. The title Panorama not only refers to the spatial aspect, but also to the width of the visual and auditory field of perception as well as to a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives.

[13
