With reference to Friedrich Schiller&rsquo;s letters <em>On the Aesthetic Education of Man<\/em>, they will think about NEUSPR&Eacute;CH&rsquo;s self-image and the relationship between art and philosophy, touching upon the question how much commentary art requires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the discussion, the film <em>Bonjour Madame<\/em> by artist Gabriela Guimar&atilde;es will be screened. Taking the form of an imaginary television show, whose host is the character Ruth, she deals with colonialism and pop culture, operating at the intersection of reality and fiction, the public and the private.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Melanie Reichert<\/strong> is a researcher at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Kiel, specializing in cultural philosophy. She is also the deputy director at the Institute for Philosophy, Psychoanalysis and Cultural Studies (IPPK), Berlin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Gabriela Guimar&atilde;es<\/strong> is an author and artist, who studied German literature at the UFMG in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Using various media &ndash; from photography, performance and film to assemblage, installation and literary text &ndash; she develops narratives that focus on the dialog between the everyday and personal experiences, constantly exploring the boundaries between reality and fiction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>NEUSPR&Eacute;CH<\/strong> was conceived by the Hamburg based artists Oliver Ross and Simon Starke. It has prior been shown at Centre for Artists&lsquo; Publications, Weserburg Museum f&uuml;r moderne Kunst, Bremen (2020) and at Klassik Stiftung, Weimar (2022).
