\nTeresa Castro (Associate Professor, Film Studies, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle)<\/span><\/p>\n

In her current research, film scholar Teresa Castro describes the development of a new perspective on the plant world in the 20th<\/sup> century, which was largely guided by technical media and investigation methods. In doing so, she attempts to reevaluate man’s anthroprocentric claim to dominance over nature and develops future perspectives.<\/p>\n

Teresa Castro<\/strong> is Associate Professor in Film Studies at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Musée du quai Branly, Paris and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin. A significant part of her recent research focuses on eco-criticism, ecofeminism and vegetal life forms in visual culture.<\/p>\n
