On the occasion of the book release, performance and panel discussion, we talk about ceramics and its significance of crafts for the artistic education at the HFBK. The publication “Fired!” comprehensively documents the work of the ceramics workshop’s head Ingrid Jäger and her students over the past 20 years at HFBK.<\/p>\n

Since 2001, Ingrid Jäger has familiarized numerous upcoming artists at the HFBK with the iconography and techniques of ceramic materials in her workshop and taught them skills that have had a decisive influence on their artistic development. Together, they have produced countless works that bear witness to the wealth of technical and conceptual possibilities of this craft. The publication also makes clear how diverse and present working with the hands and with clay is today.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the book presentation Effe Minelli together with Ciro Riccio will present the performance Mimí and the beauty Salon<\/em>. Afterwards we will talk with Ingrid Jäger, Asana Fujikawa, Anna Bochkova, Heiko Lietz and Jonathan Spörke about ceramic working processes and how the material influences artistic concepts.<\/p>\n
