The work&rsquo;s starting point is a series of videographic research and tasks that deal with the representation of female characters and bodies in private spaces. The performers can be read as a living archive of collective and individual experience, which serve as source for the videos. Inspired by the work of Cindy Sherman, the collective&nbsp;<em>Performing Females<\/em>&nbsp;transfers their staged domestic situations into the art space for the first time at Kunsthaus Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Performing Females<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;is a group of professional female dance and performance artists from Hamburg, Africa and Indonesia, who are grouped around the director and performance artist Katharina Oberlik. Since 2020, they have been collaborating to design female characters and new narratives in the representation of women on stage, film and image.
